Stripes for DAYS

I have a love for stripes. It is so easy to create different looks, and most stripes are pretty comfy too! I purchase most of my striped clothing from Old Navy and Nordstroms, but it is easy to find stripes anywhere. Here are a few outfit creations with stripes:

How to roll up those sleeves

With my recent posts about these denim tops, you may be wondering how I folded my sleeves. Instead of just rolling your sleeves up the traditional way, here is a quick, step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve this look. My aunt taught me this when I was younger, and I am happy to share it with you!IMG_7699IMG_7700IMG_7701IMG_7702IMG_7703IMG_7704IMG_7705IMG_7706IMG_7707IMG_7708IMG_7709IMG_7711

The Basic Chambray

Do you remember that denim on denim look Britney and Justin had going on back in the day?

Well it’s back! It might not be that drastic, but denim is definitely a popular style right now. Whether it be a dress or blouse, you can definitely stay trendy with this look. Another plus is you can make denim work in several ways too!

A chambray top, which others may call a denim button-up, is a great base to have in your closet. If you already have one, you are already on the right track!

A lighter shade will go great with those dark jeans, and you can really get creative on accessorizing. I will admit that I did pay a little more for my top, but I believe it was a great investment. I’ve had my chambray top for going on four years now, and it still looks brand new. I have both a lighter and darker shades that I wear ALL THE TIME.

A tip for this top is always iron or take it to the cleaners. It is an easy touch to make your look dressy, without rolling out that dough.

Faux Fur Fun

Vests are so fun and handy. They keep you warm, and you don’t have to pull jacket sleeves up when you are working.

One of my favorite purchases was this faux fur vest. In Texas, you will see them everywhere and paired with everything. Here are two ways I love to dress up my vest for work and for date nights.

Happy Trails

One of my favorite things to do in our town is go exploring. We always find hidden gems. We recently found this walking/biking trail, and we love it! We really enjoy places where we can take our pup too!

I encourage you to find something new in your town It could be a new restaurant, local store, or even a park!

When feeling creative, or wanting to avoid a jewelry pat down at TSA, the first thing I grab out of the closet is a scarf. I think it is a fun way to change up an outfit in the most inexpensive way.

If you ever fly, you know that TSA will find any of your traveling flaws: four ounces of shampoo instead three, your husband’s pocketknife, or jewelry that you didn’t take off. Because I fly so much, I try my best to wear comfortable clothing that’s also TSA approved. A scarf is a great accessory to add when traveling, and a blanket scarf even turns into a blanket when you get cold on the flight! Here are some ways to make different outfits with the same scarf:

Blanket scarf: Dimore | Olive tunic: Piko | Pleather leggings: BP | Black wedges: Toms | Sunglasses: Ray Ban | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Kendra Scott | Hat: Topshop

Blanket scarf: Dimore | Denim top: J.Crew | Another denim top option: LOFT | Army green jeggings: H&M |  Riding boots: Sam Edelman | Sunglasses: Ray Ban | Earrings: Kendra Scott

Hello World!

Don’t you hate the feeling when you go into your closet and you have nothing to wear? I mean, your closet is full of clothes, some you just purchased. But nothing in your closet works for what you are doing tonight, or this weekend, or even your upcoming trip. This is a true struggle I use to have, and I am sure some of you can relate.

Trends are always changing in fashion. Like many people in America, our pocket books can’t afford those constant changes. Pinterest, magazines, and people on TV are constantly reminding us that we need to keep up with the fashion trend and color.

My goal with this blog is to help you overcome this fashion burden, and make getting dressed a fun experience. Let’s make the most of what you already have! But along with clothes, you need to pair it with great accessories and makeup too! I want to help you become the best you.

Please note, you will not find crop tops or teenage-dream looks here. My taste revolves around cute, casual, and work-appropriate clothes.

I am also a big foodie that loves cooking, baking, and trying new restaurants. I will share some great recipes and food with you as well.

I hope you enjoy this blog, and thank you so much for taking the time to read!
